2900 yard swim
Written by admin on January 2, 2008 – 10:18 pm -Got a late start today at the pool…and it was freezing. I was having some shoulder issues last week, but it seems to have worked itself out. I was impressed at my swim today…not the actual times, but the motivation and ability to finish this type of workout. I had 400 yards of backstroke, and 400 yards of breast stroke in the warm up phase. And i’ve never done backstroke that much before, but I did it. Something to hang my hat on. Also, the z4 main set was good too…just sort of worked my way through it, and didn’t panic or think too much about it. One possible explanation: new goggles. It feels like i’m on top of the world when i break out new goggles.
Just finished up a massage at Jess’s new office. Worked the full body, but dam, getting into the IT bands and hamstrings is so painful. And the glute area too. Must be the running.
So today I was driving and flipping through the stations, and for some reason stopped on classic rock. I’m not a big fan of this type of music, so i guess it was by accident. When I realized what I was listening to, I went to turn the station, and then the next song came up: Teen Spirit by Nirvana. What’s up with that? Nirvana is classic rock? Can’t be. To me, that’s alternative, like Pearl Jam. Early 90’s…in college…not the 60’s and 70’s where classic rock reigns. Maybe i’m way off, but Nirvana is not classic rock. Got me thinking about how old i’m getting…about to turn 35 in a few weeks. Still feel sometimes like I haven’t aged. Could be the lifestyle in Boulder.
