It’s now Saturday, the day before the big race. We had a pretty solid day today. A little swim, bike and run. Just to make sure all the kinks are worked out. The swim was a big change from Thursday’s swim. Felt warmer today, and much easier on the toes and fingers. Big mental lift for tomorrow. Bike felt good too, rented a disc wheel and 404 for the front, both tubulars from RaceDayWheels.com. They have the system nailed down. Then to the run, which i can’t WAIT till I get there tomorrow. Something I need to prove to myself.
Forgot to mention what happened this morning with the bike locks on our Subaru. We broke the key that locks the bikes once in place on the Rocky Mounts, and couldn’t get Jess’s bike off. Didn’t have a back up, so we just headed down to the race site to see if we could find someone with the same key. But ended up being able to wiggle it loose, and get it off. But still have to figure it out before we leave. But if that’s the biggest thing that goes wrong, sweet!
Took a quick snoozer in the afternoon, after a good lunch with friends. I feel ready, I know I keep saying that, but I am. Can’t explain it really, but my mind is in the right place. Fired up, ready to race.
