Monday/Tuesday

Monday: 20 mile run
Nothing like running 20 miles after a rest week, but having a race stuck in there the day before. I felt the effort from Sunday on the legs, just enough to make the start of this run a little foggy. We started late, Jess and I headed to the Res to get in our long runs. I ran most of the Boulder Backroads full marathon. Great course, first time I’ve done it. Slow and steady, and then push the hills.

Tuesday: 7 mile run / 1400 yd swim / more to come…36 mile ride
Pretty solid day so far. Ran 7 miles this morning up at Davidson Mesa. Watched the sun rise, see alot of those lately. Then to the pool for a short drill swim. Planning to get a ride in later today.

And…a big thank you to Mike F and Jess for coming out to save me today, and allowing me to get most of my ride in.  I thought  I started out ok, but at mile 6 I got a flat.  Then one of my spares already had a hole in it, and when I tried to use the other spare, it ripped while putting the tire back on…dam bead, it’s too tight.  But a HUGE thanks for both Mike and Jess coming out to get me.  It reminds me that all this training for IMAZ and getting me to the starting line doesn’t begin and end with me.  I need help too.  And I want to acknowledge anyone else that has helped me get this far, and will help me get even farther.  So when your out next on a ride, and see someone with a flat, stop and help them out…good karma, it will come back to save you.

Finished my ride, 30 miles, on the Power Cranks.  I reached my limit when my hip flexors were screaming, and I was losing the smooth turnover.
