Short Recap

Saturday: 100 mile ride, 4000 yd swim
Hot day, but got some good mileage in.  Swam early with Craig again.  He’s gotten so fast in the pool, my goal now is to limit the times i get lapped.  Rode the IMAZ course mapped out locally here, and the bike is really coming along.

Big raging party Saturday night to send off Kristina for her first, but not last, Ironman.  We got a Cow Pinata and filled it with all her favorite goods, the kids were loving the chance to take a swing at an object blindfolded…could have gotten out of control.

harry_entering_water.jpgSunday: 10 mile run, 1000 yd swim, 40 mile bike
Easy jog on the south boulder creek trail, ran into Crowie a few times, just jogging at an easy pace, but soon was out of sight.  Swam a bit, then rode back home and finished mileage on the trainer.  Rode the PowerCranks for 23 miles.

And most importantly, Dog Dayz!  This is when the city closes the outdoor lap pool which Jess and I used a lot this year, and open it to dogs so they can go crazy.  There are so many tennis balls Harry doesn’t know what to do with himself.  And he’s learned to jump from a running start as shown here…one of the best out there.  And Lhasa just wades in the shallow end and maybe will fetch a ball here and there.

Monday: 22 mile run, 21 mile bike
Big run day, no heart rate monitor, went off pace.  Jess was out running the Boulder Backroads course, she’s gonna PR… I ran the 10k loop that Craig mapped out a while back.  It’s great because I can stash water bottles and there’s a few bathrooms out there.  Rode an easy ride, had more mileage to do, but this was all I had.

And thank you…Jess.  This might become the norm now to give you some credit, because you are doing everything in your power to keep me going, and it helps.  Can’t say it enough.  Push, push, and then push me some more!

People may argue honey, that you are the true pusher….the IM pusher as PSG would say.

It’s my pleasure to be by your side as you prepare for the race of your life. Keep up the good words, I’m an awesome wife and the world should know it.
