Rest Day

Wednesday has now become my day of rest.  I sometimes have to work Masters into the a.m. session, but today, no way.  I need rest, and that supersedes a workout.  I pushed it really hard last week (Thursday-Tuesday), my body is saying ‘rest me’.  Yesterday I ran 5 miles in the morning, didn’t want to do it at all.  Then swam 2000 yards while Jess pool jogged next to me.  She’s a trooper.  Getting the mileage in anyway she can.  I give her alot of credit for sticking with the pool jogging.

Rode 52 miles late yesterday, and didn’t realize it’s getting darker sooner, so finished up on the trainer, on the PowerCranks.  And all of a sudden I got the flashbacks to riding that trainer for 90% of my mileage during the winter.  Oh man, i’m not ready for this.  Then I told Jess that, and she said to suck it up…Called me a name I shouldn’t write here, and so now I’ve got the motivation to get all mileage in this week no matter how I have to do it.  Thanks Jess!

There’s also no way I would have done all that on Tuesday, after running a marathon and biking an hour on the cranks on Monday, without that massage from Jess.  I should be sore, I should be aching, I should be tired and dragging…but my legs reacted well yesterday.  I also think I’m getting fitter than I’ve been.  I remember when I would run 10 miles (long run), and then hobble around the next 2 days.  No more.  Something’s clicked, and that’s a big part of the reason I don’t want to take too much time off after IMAZ.  I’ll move to a more unstructured schedule, but still plan to swim, bike and run.

Whatever names I call you, it’s all from a place of love. If you needed someone to constantly stroke your ego and tell you no matter what you are doing that it’s ‘all ok’ then you wouldn’t have married me.

I just see when you need to tough love and boy do I love dishing that shit out.
You are kicking ass my friend and I am wicked psyched to be a part of it.

By the way, you can say pussy on your blog, it’s ok honey.
