NCAR Repeats
Written by admin on October 18, 2008 – 7:40 am -Scheduled to do 4×1mile repeats up/down NCAR. These are crucial in adapting your legs to the hard pounding. Ran up to NCAR, let a water bottle at the bottom, then ran up in a steady z3 effort. After a mile, turned around and ran down at 7min/mile pace. It’s important to not lumber down with your stride, you’ll pay for it later. I focused on keeping my feet under me, more of a shuffle. Hitting that pace wasn’t difficult at all. It was a perfect morning too, bright and sunny and warm.
Ran back home, took in my chocolate milk with protein, my mega B vitamin, and soaked in an ice bath. Immediately after that, threw on the Skins and just kept my legs warm.
Was going to skip my swim today, but when Jess returned home, I felt a little better and figured I needed to get in the mileage or Sunday’s swim would be pretty big. I think the swim actually released some tension in my legs, all good for today’s huge workout.
