Race Week: Monday

Written by admin on November 17, 2008 – 8:51 pm -

Today…oh boy.  Today.  Officially marks the start of Ironman week.  Supposed to be relaxing, getting out and making sure all gears are in check, hydrating, focusing…but in reality, today was a bit difficult.  Finally managed to get out on a short bike ride after getting dressed to ride at 9, worked for another 2 hours in my bike gear.  Then had to take the bike in for one last check over with the folks at Echelon Spokes and Slopes.  JD and Dana got it all primed.  Dropped it off at Colorado Multisport for the TriBikeTransport service.  Next time i see my bike, it will be in AZ.

Dropped Jess off at her massage, and ran some errands.  Finally, finally found a pair of new jeans.  I hate to buy clothes, try to wear what i have until there’s nothing left, but there does come a point where too much is too much.  And this pair of jeans from Target is just hanging on.  Plus, finding my size is now a touch act, and the size that actually fits right.  So while in WalMart today, yeah, I suffered through the mega plex of the beast that Walmart is, and found a pair. One thing i have to say about Walmart, is stuff is cheap.  A pair of jeans for $16.50, perfect!  Not my size but they will do.  Jess always reminds me to buy my size, but for some reason i never do.  Anyway, new pair of jeans, i’m all set.

Ran for a few miles when we got home to keep the legs loose.  Can’t believe how dark it’s getting now…and at 4:30?  Felt good, nothing great.  Tomorrow’s another day, and hopefully more relaxed and can get a few more things done before we leave on Thursday.

Beej… are you sure you are not related to Gordy? He buys clothes if he likes them whether or not they are his size !

    He has many fashion disasters!

See you Thursday? We are registering then and Gordy will be swimming, on Thursday and Friday….I will be standing in line on Saturday to register for next year.

    Travel safe. !

Hey Wal-Marto - I feel your pain buying jeans my friend…I assure you the pain and suffering you have gone through to get that pair far exceeds what you will endure Sunday. Try to keep your HR down right now from all the excitement. It’s so tough, I know. Have a great race week!!
