Need to swim like a madman
Written by admin on July 4, 2009 – 6:40 pm -Stitches are out, so it’s pool time. Took my first plung on Friday at an indoor pool. Swam with the splint for the first few hundred yards, but started to come off, and it felt weird. So I ditched it for the remainder of the swim – only a total of 800 yards, enough for now. I felt awesome fitness-wise, but my thumbnail was turing super white. And I sort of felt like my thumb was going to showhow fall off in the water. Giving it another go tomorrow.
I ran MAF this morning on the Fairview Track. Didn’t get better from last test (5 weeks ago), but with everything that’s happened, it wasn’t too bad. I just expect alot of myself – who doesn’t? Rode the trainer for 2 hours after the run, watched the tour. Finally able to bike in z3 for a bit too.
Plan is to run the boulder res tomorrow, 2 loops, just like the 5430 course. Need to get used to those hills, and open exposed trails. Jess is prepping for the Peak next Sunday. She’s dialing in the bike, rode Old Stage more than she ever has, and getting experience on that hill is huge. She’s gonna kill it. I’ll be support…again.
Now, back to swimming so i can regain some of that fitness I was enjoying these past few weeks of racing.

You’ll still be swimming faster then me, I’ve been sucking it of late. You’ll get it back, you’ll be very hungry once you can go all out. Stroke and Stride will be a great test this week. Keep positive, you’re doing great…oh yeah and SUCK IT UP!
