Heat Training

Now that I’m somewhat back from being layed up (still wearing a splint for another week, no outdoor riding), I am trying to get my workouts done in the heat when I can without sacrificing my performance.  I feel like i’ve been lagging a bit in this area.  Ran that last two days in the sunshine, short easy runs of about an hour or less.  Rode the trainer tonight while watching the tour, ended with a great finish too…for those that haven’t seen it yet.

Met with my buddy Matt today for lunch – owner and soon to be business millionaire of Pedal to Properties.  Check them out on Pearl Street, just moved to a new office, they’re cruiser bikes are parked outside.  Super cool concept, seeing real estate in town via bicycle.  It will franchised all over the U.S.  Anyway, Matt got me into triathlon in 2004 when I raced the Spring Chill up in Loveland I think.  It was the last year of the event, water was so freakn’ cold.  I think I ran in my bike jersey with the number pinned to my chest…I’ve come a long way since then.

Tomorrow is Stroke n Stride, which I’m planning to race.  Will have to take the swim very, very easy and stay to the outside so i don’t run into anyone with my hand.  Should be fun.

Jess is out tonight at her first cougar bar – Elway’s, down in Cherry Creek, it’s her sister’s birthday…and the place is know as THE cougar den in the area.  Funny stuff.  Can’t wait to hear about the scene.
